The Nation reports that January 2, 2009 has been declared as an extra New Year holiday, as approved by the caretaker government.
The Cabinet is trying to boost Thailand's tourism with the long New Year holidays starting from December 31 to January 2. Since Jan 2 is a Friday, we get to enjoy another 2 days over the weekend.
