Saturday Nation reports that Kenya's Olympic champion Pamela Jelimo became the first sole winner to win the IIAF Golden League's million dollar jackpot on Friday night, with her sixth straight 800 meters win at the Van Damme Memorial, in the last race of the series.

The 18-year-old Jelimo was a clear winner in the race to finish in a time of 1:55.16 for a meet record, almost four seconds ahead of world champion and fellow Kenyan Janeth Jepkosgei, who finished in 1:58.85.
Jelimo made history be becoming the first Kenyan woman to win a gold medal in the Beijing Olympics.
To take the jackpot, athletes had to win their competition in each of the six top meets of the European Golden League circuit, which ended in Brussels on Friday.
