Naked models parading the Flower Carnival in Bangkok

The Nai Lert Park Hotel Bangkok's Annual Fair 2008 to be held between August 22 and 24, is taking a more colorful & fun-filled approach this year, by calling itself the Flower Carnival.

The event organisers got their advertising act together by parading naked models covered only with colorful orchids (seen in the photo below).

The hotel will turn its four-and-a-half rai of private park into a permanent orchid garden, featuring more than 250 species.

Orchid expert Rapee Sagarik will be setting up the garden, worth around 40 million Baht.

The brainchild of Thanphuying Lursakdi Sampatisiri, an ardent plant and flower lover and the honorary Hotel chairperson, says the event has grown from "just a flower show" into a public and social affair. It raises 38 million Baht for charities. This year the money is going to the Kidney Foundation of Thailand.

Participants this year include leading flower arrangers and top business people. Other activities include flower-arrangement demonstrations, celebrity fashion shows, a superstar concert, an afternoon tea concert with Jennifer Kim and friends, cooking demonstrations, a photography event, a shop-till-you-drop bazaar and a plant market. There will also be a special demonstration of sogetsu floral arrangements by Madame Kako of Japan.
