Ramkamhaeng University students shot in Bangkok on the way to PM's house

The Nation reports that two men on a motorcycle shot two Ramkamhaeng University students who joined a march to Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej's residence on Bungkhum district tonight.

The injured boys were identified as Anusak Sieng-oon and Apichart Polrit, both aged 22. Anusak was shot on his left leg while Apichart at his left arm. The injured students along with 100 other students of Ramkamhaeng University were marching to Samak's residence in Soi Nawamin 81.

The students started their march at about 8.30 pm to the PM's residence to protest against his government. The students were gathering at a flat of the National Housing Authority on Soi Nawamin 6 to prepare for the march. Shortly after leaving the site, two gunmen on a motorcycle passed by and opened fire at the students at around 9.30pm. They were reportedly attacked when they were walking on Soi Nawamin 17.

How could the police let this happen, inspite of them providing safety along the way? This is only making things worse than it already is.
