WBC Boxing Rankings: Official Ratings for September 2008

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has one of the most prestigious ratings in the boxing world. The Ratings Committee is formed by over 20 people from 16 countries around the world in order to have world representation. WBC title fights are of a high standard of quality, making the ratings of the WBC number one.

Samuel Peter Heavyweight Champion

29 Thai boxers are currently in the rankings list with 15 of them in the top 10. Thai boxer Oleydong Sithsamerchai is the current WBC Strawweight world champion. Strawweight, also referred to as Minimumweight or Mini Flyweight is the lightest weight category in professional boxing where boxers may weigh no more than 105 pounds or 46.7 kilos.
