Thai Taekwondo fighter Buttree Puedpong (Thai: บุตรี เผือดผ่อง) defeated Dalia Contreras Rivero of Venezuela during their women's 49 kg division Taekwondo semifinal round at the 2008 Beijing Olympics on August 20, 2008. Buttree won by superiority after they drew 2-2 after 3 rounds.
Teenager Buttree or "Nong Song", 18, former world junior champion and also the SEA Games gold medalist, will face Jingyu Wu of China in the final for the gold medal. She will receive a cash price of 10 million Baht from the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT).
